About Burgaw, North Carolina

Burgaw is a small town located in Pender County, North Carolina. It has a population of approximately 4,000 people and is known for its charming downtown area and historic homes. The town is situated in the Cape Fear region and is surrounded by lush forests and beautiful countryside. Burgaw is home to a number of interesting attractions, including the Penderlea Homestead Museum (just 14 minutes on the outskirts of town), which offers a glimpse into the area's agricultural history, the brand new Burgaw Brewing opening in March 2023, and a beautiful running trail that crosses the downtown area and goes through beautiful wooded areas and parks. Speaking of running trails, Burgaw is a hub for outdoor activities such as fishing, boating, and hiking, making it a popular destination for those looking to escape the hustle and bustle of city life. 

While Burgaw is still considered a very small town, it is only 20 minutes away from Wilmington, NC, and also a centerplace for other great cities/towns like Rocky Point, Wallace, Rose Hill, and Castle Hayne. Fun Things To Do In Burgaw, NC

Burgaw, North Carolina is a beautiful country town with tons of outdoor activities to enjoy, including visiting the parks at either Harrell Memorial Park or Rotary Park. If you're interested in outdoor recreation, there are running/biking trails such as Osgood Canal Greenway and Urban Trail. This trial is a 2.2 mile loop around the central portion of the town limits. The trail follows the Osgood Canal through town and offers walks through wooded areas along the canal and urban areas in the downtown, connects to the schools located in town and offers the convenience of both passive parks and playground parks along the way. There are several streets and areas throughout town that access the trail. Some great places to grab a bite or drink include: Burgaw Alimente, Olde Carolina Eatery, Fat Daddy's Pizza, and Brown Dog Coffee Company, and Burgaw Brewing.
